Scopes for Night Hunting?

No experience with scopes for night hunting but need to get rid of some pigs and raccoons . Would appreciate any recommendations; range won't exceed 200 yards. Recommended articles are all several years old and I'm sure the technology has changed a good bit. Thanks for any help

The thermals made by Bering Optics are the Glock of thermals, I would suggest the Hogster or Super Hogster

Yes the thermals are nice I have a couple but they are pricey. You can get a digital NV for $500 -1000. I really like the thermals but it can be a challenge to ID your target, you don't want to shoot a neighbors dog. It is much easier to see an animal with Thermal than NV. The Hogsters by Bering Optics are a good choice if you go that route.

Depends on your budget.

For your purpose and range, i'd look at the stuff from ATN.

I'm not too sure they fit my needs, as the ranges for me are considerably longer.

Maybe we can contact the Taliban and ask how much for their night vision scopes. :D

Pulsar thermion start at 2200, super hogster a tad less, regular hogster, agm rattler thermals are all good thermals under 2500 or so.
Now you can go up from there to over 20k.
I have experience with the above and they all would be nice for out to 300 yrds easy.
I like pulsars due to they record on shot without extras
My own is a xp38 pulsar with going on 754 kills with it, but it's a 4k unit

Least expensive I've seen. I have done a lot of business with this store and they are great to work with and will spend time with you on the phone, a rarity these days.

After looking at the recommended scopes, I will probably try a Sightmark Wraith to wet my feet. If I find that this is something I really enjoy I might spring for a mid-range thermal later. I really appreciate all the responses.

If the light is not a issue, I have a small high power flashlight on the side of one of my AR's. My little 3x9 Nikon picks up enough of the flash light at 210 yards for a dead coyote. I had the Nikon already and there is many options for flashlights. I have stepped up to the Pulsar now, and it is a hoot. They can't hide from the Thermal. I have a hand held for scanning and also one on one of my rifles.

The best was when the neighborhood heathens decided to ring my door bell at 02:30 in the morning and hide in the ditch across the road. Sheriffs office found them hiding just where I said they were. Deputies thought it was cool to see them hiding in the total darkness with the little handheld. Their mommies and daddies were not happy to have to come and get them at 03:00. The parents told the Deputies that they did not know that they were not in there houses.

All in the raising !!!

So they really were playing DIng Dong DItch lol.
Seriously though if thats all they were doing, thats not that bad, punish them for sneaking out but its not like they were breaking into cars.
We just got done with the annual Homecoming TP season in our area and I have a freshman. I told him if he gets caught he's on his own and if we get tp'd in retaliation, he's cleaning it up. SO far so good but only because of my crazy work schedule.

For 200 yards or less I use a Primos varment light. About 90 bucks. May not be the best but for me it plenty of light. Just my two cents Tommy Mc
