I've shot that crap out to 600 yards with good results. Sometimes a rifle may not like a certain ammo, doesn't mean all of that type of ammo is crap.Peebles, that whitetail ammo is crap.
Lil brother got some for his 270 to sight in,
I believe a shotgun can shoot a better group.
It was giving up 6"groups at 100. JMO
True that.I've shot that crap out to 600 yards with good results. Sometimes a rifle may not like a certain ammo, doesn't mean all of that type of ammo is crap.
OP, try another scope, maybe some different ammo. Could be the rifle itself. Lots of parts to the system.
I helped a friend in South Dakota zero his rifle at an indoor range. I was there on a business trip and he lives in another state but drew a tag and has a daughter there so he can store the rifle there. The rifle is a new Tikka with a new major brand scope on it. The range was only 25 yards and provided a wobbly table and wobbly bags to shoot off of. Still, at 25 yards, you should be able to shoot in 1 hole. We calculated the 25 yard zero and I'm pretty sure we got that right.
There was some parallax issue as the scope wouldn't focus fully inside 50 yeards. Our groups were pathetic--perhaps 1" at 25 yards and his groups were different POI than my groups.
Fast forward 3 weeks. He got a shot at a deer at 100 yards and blew apart a sapling just over it's back.
I told him he needs to bring the rifle out to California where we can go to a real range and i'll get it dialed in for him.
