Scope zero for my friend

My friend called, knows im a shooter. Wanted me to zero the scope at 200 yard on his package deal savage axis, boyd stock, weaver 3-9 setup 30-06.

What a pile. Was shooting the hornady American whitetail ammo. It will shoot minute of deer at 200. Maybe

Not really sure what was up with it unless the scopr is shifting the crosshairs. Everything was tight. I was bagged up. Id move the crosshairs 3 clicks aka 1.5" point of impact would move 6".

Needless to say i was less than impressed.

Just put a Vortex Crossfire II on a Ruger American 30-06 Wednesday that a friend won @ a Whitetails Unlimited banquet. Zeroed up in 3 shots and shoots remarkably well. You know it's close to deer season when all your buddies call for scope mounting and shooting at your range! :D Luckily no one has called today. Season opens tomorrow. Good luck to everyone. Kill a Bigun!!

He will be calling me in a couple days after he picks up a new scope im sure. He wont be able to stand it he knows im capable of half minute shooting.

Peebles, that whitetail ammo is crap.
Lil brother got some for his 270 to sight in,
I believe a shotgun can shoot a better group.
It was giving up 6"groups at 100. JMO

I loaded some rounds for my buddies Marlin 30-30. First time at the range he was shooting some 4” groups at 100, using the iron sights. He asked me to put a scope on it, so I did. A Cabelas 3-9. Last week at the range, the best he could do with the scope were 6 inch groups.

I bought a crossfire 2 for a heavy tactical .308 , just to try a Vortex , zero problems.... Bought another a few months ago for a 10/22 , zero problems... Real nice when you catch them on sale also... Are the a Night force , no , and for the $1100 difference they shouldn't be compared to one... If you're looking for a decent scope their hard to beat in their price range....

When he changes scopes make him change rings out to some Talley lightweights. Those original rings and bases are junkier than the piece of junk scope that Dusty mentioned.

got a guy bringing one in tomorrow to bore sight and check, axis in 243, might be the same
