scope rings ?

Which scope rings do you guys prefer between Leupold LRM and Burris signature with inserts ? They will be used to mount a Sightron scope on a Tikka T3x varmint

I have Burris signature rings on at least 3 rifles and just installed their XTR rings on a 40X BR .308. I will use no other type rings. They look great, eliminate lapping, won't damage the scope, eliminates the need for a 20* base, allows for a lot of adjustment of the scope within the rings (horizontal AND lateral) and your scope WILL NOT MOVE.

Plus, they are very well priced. Some of these other ring manufacturers are very proud of their rings and their high prices reflect this. I would challenge any other ring maker to say why their rings are better than Burris Signature rings.

These are my #1 and #2 go-to rings on everything. The Burris are my favorite for the reasons listed above and use them for just about everything. The Leupold is what I go to if I can't find the Burris in stock. I haven't had any issues with them marking the scope or not holding solid but I do love being able to add inserts if needed on the Burris.

PRW I know but not LR anything. The abbreviations QRW and PRW mean; Quick Release Weaver and Permanent Release Weaver. The QRW rings can be installed or removed without tools while the Permanent rings require tools to install or remove.

Regardless, I don't like the Burris rings specifically because they mask any problems with the rings. Using a rubber bushing to help compensate for ring alignment or shape errors isn't a solution, it's simply a way to cover up the problem so that the shooter THINKS that there isn't anything wrong. But in reality the scope and rifle will still shoot less accurately than if you had lapped the rings properly. Most people don't see a problem because they don't engage in any shooting discipline that requires absolutely consistent accuracy and precision. If you buy the Burris rings you'll know if you've made a bad choice if from time to time the scope rings loosen, or the scope suddenly looses it's ability to track well, or your zero moves from time to time; then you'll know that you should have lapped the rings rather than buying a band aid fix.

Well, I’ve had two sets on two of my guns for a few years without experiencing any problems. Also, the inserts are a hard plastic, not rubber.
To each his own, as always.

Used them for years,no problems ever . I disagree 100 percent. Have you used them ?

I strongly prefer the Burris with inserts. Locktite takes care of screws loosening and does so with rings without inserts. I never had a shifting of anything and my zero stays where it is and will be in the future. It is not an O-ring, but rather a hard plastic insert.

Each to his own.

I check alignment and lap every ring set I have ever owned if needed. Wheeler makes my life easy sometimes. I like the QRW rings as well.

The Leupold rings I referred to are LRW rings are Matte 120978 30 MM High and on the back of the package says 180618. No one on here ever hear of them ?
