Scope Repair or Buy New?

Geronimo Jim

Gold $$ Contributor
I dropped a rifle and it landed on the scope and I think bent the tube. It is a Bausch & Lomb 6 x 24 x 40mm AO. I really like the scope and returned it to Bushnell for estimate. $365 plus $10 for shipping. WOW! Someone said a Leupold would be about $100. I am thinking of adding money and just buying a Leupold VX 3 in 6.5 x 20. As O'Reilley would say ...."what say you?". Thanks Geronimo Jim

I got the price for repair off the computer. It also said letter was mailed to me. I just thought that they might be offerince me a replacement scope for that amount. Will wait for the letter.

You are right about Leupold will replace complete tube for $100.00. I would look for a used Leupold rather than buying a new VX-3 I believe the older Veri-X-lll are far better than the new one's and if you shop around on this site or e-bay you can get a bargin price on one if you are willing take a little time buying.
