Scope recommendations

Say you have a budget of $750 or so, what would you recommend for a scope in the 8-32 ish power range. Its for our varmint silhouette shoots out to 500yds, but might want to take the rifle out PD shooting a bit longer, 7-800myds. Just missed out on a used Nightforce that would have been perfect I believe

You can often find a Burris F-Class MOA 8-40x50 for $800 used or as a Black Friday special - it's a good value (I have 3).

You will never regret spending a little more for a Nightforce. Well worth the extra money both in using it and when it comes time to sell it you can always get your money or even make some if you buy a used Nightforce for the right price. I was a little cheap and bought a Sightron 8x32x56 and sold it 2 years later and bought a Nightrorce 12x42x56 best thing I ever did. Now I own (6) Nightforce scopes and will never sell a one of them. BUY ONCE AND NEVER REGRET IT. I Still own some Sightrons a couple SSll 36 power a 24 power and 10x50x60. The main reason I sold the 8x32 was it was a older one that had the 1/4" dot. I always buy used from this site. Every single one has been just like brand new only I didn't pay new prices. I have seen 10x50 sightrons sell for $750.00 don't be in a rush to buy and you will find a really great scope for a reasonable price.

I recently ordered a Sightron from Lance and the 8-32 Zero stop was a little over
Your $750 budget.
The differance was not that much so I went with a 10-50x60 PLR whice was on sale.
I not sure if it still is.

Scope warranties are good. Best bang for the buck is used for sure and a lot of used scopes rotate thru the classified ads here. Value for dollar, pretty hard to beat Sightrons and the Vortex Golden Eagle. If you decide a new Sightron, @lancexxx is the guy. I would not go 8 to 32, go to a 50 or 60 power top end, have it if you want it. It is variable but usually if you buy less you will end up wanting more.

PLR series on sale till the end of month, All sightrons will have a increase in price after the first of year. I have my new price list and most are going up around 10%
