Scope mount for Remington single shot

I have a very nice handy 22LR Remington built in the 1930s or 1940s. I want to add a scope, no one makes a rail, weaver makes weaver bases, but they look ridiculous they are so wide compared to the tiny receiver. My CZs have a dovetail that is much smaller, an 11mm but I think it is so close that 3/8s dovetail rings will work also. Are 3/8s or 11mm scope mounts made that I can drill and tap to mount on the Remington receiver, and use the same rings as the CZs? Thanks for looking!!!!

There are makes of rings that can be used for either 3/8 or 11 mm simply by flipping the "claw".

Thank you! That is what I am looking for, but I think that the holes in those bases may be too far apart for the tiny receiver. I will call or email them and see if I can buy them without holes or if I can buy a strip of the rail material. CJ6 I understand, and don't care which I use 3/8s or 11mm, I have 11mm rings and would buy 3/8s just need the rail. It seems everyone make a way to convert to Picatinny, but using the smaller dovetails is fast going away.

The trick is going to be finding a rail or bases that have the correct radius to match the receiver. If you can figure out the model of your rifle you should have much better luck searching for a rail/bases to match.

I thought Brownell's had generic Weaver rail extrusions in stock but can't seem to find any.

If all else fails, find your self a hobby machinist and have him/her make some bases out of aluminum for you. The specs for 3/8" and/or 11mm dovetail rails are not hard to find.

Good luck.

I just did a begara b14r. It seems to be a 700 footprint. I found Talley 20moa in a combo 2 piece system mounts and rings in 1. Like the 1 piece mount/ ring that Bat offers for there receivers. I lapped the rings and mounted scope easily.
