We contest hunt alot. 4 team members with 4 different opinions on optics (and caliber and rifle make and camo patterns and game callers and scent covers and what frigging time to hunt). See where I'm going here. Pick one YOU are comfortable with. Don't like it? Get a different one and use that one on a different rifle. I use a fixed 8 power sfp and drop coyotes at 350 to 400 with no problem. My only advice would be a reticle with a finer center for the longer ranges. Critters blend into their environments and a course reticle will obscure your shot.
