Scope for muzzle brake use

I have just "larned" that IOR is having QC problems with a muzzle braked rifle; therefore, I am seeking comments on NF, Horus and USO scopes with muzzle brakes, please. Many thanks Overbore

If someone tells you that a brake will cause scope problems, I would look for the marbles falling out of his ears.

As far as scopes; if you mention NF you can throw out any others. They are THE BEST,I have 3).
As far as rock solid, I had a 5.5x22x56NSX mounted on a custom 30-378 Wea. Mag.. NO problems!! Nuf said!

To say IOR is having QC problems is a understatement. My brother-in-law and I both bought new IOR 6-24x50 LR Tactical side focus MP8 Illumin with 35mm tubes last May after driving over to SWFA located in Red Oak, Tx for a first hand evaluation as only a fool pays 1200.00 a scope without first personally inspecting it himself. We took the scope outside placed it on a viewing stock the ones with the rubber mounts and viewed the various sights out past a 1000yds off the hood of the truck. We both liked what we saw so we both pulled out the plastic, buy now pay later. I after mounting and zeroing both scopes at 50yds it was time for a little testing at 300yds. Everything worked perfectly and we both were convinced we'd made a great find. We make a yearly trip to Kansas to help control the prairie dog population along the Colorado border. On the second day of a five day shoot both our scopes went south, both side focus feathers stop working. Mine wouldn't clear up at ranges over 500yds, and you needed to turn the power down to 6x to even see a fuzzy target. His locked up set for long range and would clear up under 350yds. These aren't budget priced scopes, we could have bought Nightforce BR models for what we paid for these pieces of junk.

Ever ask a .50 BMG shooter? All the scopes they use eventually break - even Leupold Mk 4 M1 models where lenses are essentially glued in after the scope mountings are fixed in place.

A brake results in decelleration opposite to recoil. Most scopes are internally braced for normal recoil, but not against the forward pull - this is why most will fail when mounted on a spring piston air rifle.

I've been shooting breaked rifle's,6) with big Nightforces under them for years and never ever had a problem with the brakes causing a problem with them. 4 of them are Hollands Quick Discharge breaks with the baffles.

I have two braked rifles. My .22-250AI wears a Burris Fullfield 6-18X40 and has been utterly reliable with the use of the Answer Products Varmint Snyper brake that is on that rifle. My old .243AI had a Nikon 6.5-20X44 on it with a brake that my gunsmith made up. Both of these scopes worked without any problems at all. These are the ones that have worked well for me FWIW.
