Scope decision on my 223ai

setup:
Rem 700 SA
trued, threaded, bolt knob, cerakote, single shot conversion by SSC (fantastic guy to deal with)
timney 517 trigger (swap to 2oz soon)
stock will be either an ST1000 or ST-BR from Shehane as soon as I can swing by there and make my mind up
Protektor and Cowan

use:
shoot 99% from the bench to 100/200yds
1% shooting from bipod out to 400/500yds and at groundhogs (have another stock for this)

So...I just sold my 6-24x50 Viper PST and am looking to replace it with something with more magnification. I can't make my mind up which way to go. I'm looking at fixed 36x Sightron and Weaver....and also looking at a NF BR 8-32x56, Sightron Siii 8-32x56, and 10-50x60....

I do 99% of my shooting from the bench with this rifle....I was taking it with me to the tree farm to shoot groundhogs and steel at longer distances, but I think my SBR will take over this duty now...10.5" is more than enough to carry 500yds I'd think.

Should I just go ahead and get a fixed 36x? I'm liking how cheap they are...but I'm a little worried about mirage when I'm shooting with my suppressor or in the summer... But, then again...it's half the price and that's always a benefit.

Opinions?

A straight 32X will cause you a lot of grief in certain conditions....
The S3 Sightron's will do you a great job, and you can always power them down for conditions..
If money is not a problem, get the Nightforce....

I love the Sightron SIII 10-50X60 with the Fine Crosshair and .125 target turrets.

A fixed 36X will become very limiting and you'll become tired of it very quickly. I prefer the fine reticule because they do not cover up the target like most of the new whizzbang BDC reticule options that are out there today. The 1/8 Min turrets are the only way to go for fine adjustments until the optics companies come out with a good 1/16 min adjustment.

This is the same scope that will be going on my MOA Maximum in 243 AI. It will work better on a long range pistol than most other high magnification scopes because it has a much longer eye relief. It is well worth a good close look for your project.
