You've got excellent scopes, It's not a matter of eye relief if you're getting bitten. My suggestion would be to check the length of your stock. If it's not long enough you end up having the same problem. A 300 Weatherby has a sharp recoil, I know I've got one. You need all the relief you can get with that rifle. That thing is not a really a shock absorber, it’s an eyeshade to give the scope image higher contrast and apparent brightness. Even compressed, it is more than an inch long, eating into the already small eye relief. Given the speed and force of the recoil in question, it seems unlikely to provide any cushioning. It will make the bites more frequent, but perhaps less cutting.Yes
