Scope choice

What scope would be the best choice, Leupold 4.5-14X50 Mark4 or Nightforce NSX 3.5-15X56 OR 5.5-22X56 for target/big game hunting and is there a big difference in low light.

There probably isnt much difference between the three scopes you have posted all of them aren't bad. For hunting purposes,DEER) i believe these scopes fail in low light conditions, you can't compare the quality to Swarovski, S&B, Kahles, Ziess etc when it comes to shooting in low light conditions.
On the other hand these scopes probably arent the best for target shooting due to the reticles.

I diagree with wal ... the Nightforce is every bit as good in low light as at least the zeiss. I have both and I would highly recommend the nightforce 5.5x22. I like my Nightforce better than my zeiss in low light !!!

And both the Nightforce and Zeiss are way ahead of Leupold!

As you can see from my previous post the ziess optics are at the end of my preferences for hunting in low light conditions.
I dont believe Leopold or NF are the best choices for hunting in low light conditions, with average backgrounds.JMHO

I for one prefer the 5.5x22x50 Nightforce for all my hunting rifles, and they work just fine in the available light during open season hours... Never had a need to use the lighted reticule either, but might if I ever take up coon hunting.....
