Scope and reticle in American sniper movie

JRS,
Reading comprehension is actually one of my strong suits... Stringing a line of BS seems to be one of yours.

You are back to claiming that you know? Right. But you still can't answer the question? Must be a secret... ::)

What does a German Manufacturer have do with a question about a Nightforce Scope?

You've been doing one hell of a job of not disclosing information so far... ;)

Regards, Matt.
Yes Matt. I know. No, I am not going to answer your question. OBVIOUSLY you have a reading deficiency. I listed the names of the 3 manufacturers involved, 2 of them from Germany.

Have not seen the movie yet. But looking at the ad for the movie and watching the trailer. The scope in the ad is a Benchrest model because the only Nightforce scopes with the Illumination rheostat on top of the ocular lens are the Benchrest models. All other models of Nightforce scope have the Illumination switch in the side focal knob. In a combat situation the Benchrest Nightforce models are not tough enough for the job. Remember this is a movie and not real time footage.

If this is the reticle in question, it's n NPR1. The NPR2 doesn't have 1moa hash's, just 2moa lines.

^^^^^ Sounded like I knew what I was talking about ;) I not sure that's even a NF reticle?

Gonna watch it tonight at 11:15 when I get off work. Looks like its gonna be a great flick! I read the book already. Its a good book with good stories, but it jumps around alot. I highly recommend reading the book before watching the movie!

Saw the movie last night. Reticle is an NPR1 except it has numbers on it that civilian NPR1s don't have.

The unrealistic detail i noticed is that once he was changing the magnification the sound effects guy added the noise for clicks.

I'm assuming it is an NSX 12-42.

Carlsbad If you really want to get technical, when he made the 2100 yard shot, he didn't even give the scope a full turn up! Movies

Chris Kyle in his book said that the 2000+ yard shot was a luck shot. Movie has it a little out of context. They had some bad guys, towel heads or Jihad, stepping out playing around while thinking they was out of range, Chris had been figuring the dope out and stuck one.. He wasn't making a shot during a sketchy time at a sniper like in the movie..

Also, Chris jumped down to help marines breaching doors. Eastwood kinda gets it backward, They were beating the doors down and he started using charges to blow them down, not the other way around.. I think this is what separated him from the rest. He didn't have to go down and help out his fellow troops and was told he wasn't supposed to, but as he told it, he was tired of watching them get carried out every other building..
