Hi, my name is birdog. I admit I have an addiction to high end scopes. Went to my first session of Scopes Anonymous. Maybe my March Genesis, NF BEAST, NF AtacR, March 8-80 is a sure diagnosis. If you are a scope - o - holic feel free to post here. Admission is the first step to recovery.

I'm A Scope Aholic
Swarovski, NF, Kahles, Leica, With a Sprinkle of VX6 HD's from Leupold in the mix.
Been looking at some S&B PM II scopes but I have had some intervention from friends. lol

Can you be a scopeaholic with lower priced stuff? I have Leica, NF, Sightron, Tract, Meopta, Japanese Weaver,Leupold, Minox (no likey), , Chinese Weaver (junk given to me). Pretty much in the order of how I like t and use them. Plus I have an older Bushnell Spacemaster spotting scope, a Holosun 407K, a Sig Zero, and an unused Holosun 510 . I bought a Sightron last week and I'm tempted to buy another this week. I have a SWFA on back order. How do I stop? I'm afraid that I am going to wind up living in the woods - there are deals out there that can't be passed up!

Why do you not like Minox?

Why do you not like Minox?
I bought a Minox 1x6 duplex to use on my working AR at the Island I manage. The glass is ok, but the clicks are so faint they are almost non existent - no repeatability for me. And the warranty isn't so great. If the clicks were solid, I'd like it. Bottom line is I bought a cheap scope expecting excellence and I got mediocrity. A lot of that goes on today. I put a used Leupold 2.5x8x32 with a Boone & Crocket reticle on it and it is beyond awesome with the holdovers almost dead on to 400 yds. I wish they hadn't stopped making them. Next I'm going to try the SWFA 2.5x10x32 with the .223 reticle. They are supposed to be made in Japan, so I have high hopes.

Unless you have friends to let you at least examine a scope before you buy, it's a slippery slope. Especially with the variety of reticles available out there.

I did the same thing with a pair of Zeiss Binos. Didn't fit my face/nose. Down the road they went.

I like good optics for clarity and a company that services it. Like Snap On, if you use your tools & break 'em they'll warranty them.

I am working on getting my stripes and becoming a real "MANLY" scopaholic. But for now as a junior I have:
Vortex
Burris
SWFA

I can't afford the hard stuff on the top shelf....I stick to Sightron...and the occasional Burris plus a secret stash of Bushnell's that I don't take out in public.

I'm looking at a Ten Mile or a Kahles 10-50...but counselling starts next week.

I got Sightron, SWFA,SWFA, another, SWFA
A,Vortex,a Leupold, owl and one more Sightron.
And still don't have enough. Need one more good one.

And in the curiosities department.. A Tasco TR 3-18x on the 222, a Weaver T10, and a Kohlmorgan Bearcat 6x

On the deer gun a Leupold Varix 2 3-9.
