Schmidt Bender 12.5-50x56 FT sport models

What do you think about these compared to Burris 8x20, or NF x42 or x55 models?

Experiences, glass, durability?

Thanks

Nf x55 is a fabulous scope, thought maybe SB would have good glass as well, does not sound like it. Thanks for the info

Excellent glass
Short eye relief is a problem
Sold mine as my F/TR 215 loads had the scope hitting me regularly.
Adjustments are very fine - easier to deal with 1/8 clicks which is available on special order.
Also the standard S&B adjustments are in reverse - eg elevation up = clockwise rotation!
APB

That is something only you can determine. What might appear to have less resolution to one person, might be the best resolution to another person. Look through each and decide. As to the durability and glass, S&B is among the most durable made anywhere. Unlike most others who outsource their glass, S&B makes their own glass at the original factory in Hungary. The glass is as good as any of the glass on high end scopes.

S&B has a stellar reputation for glass and durability, I would not mind looking through one at the next match or if I find one around the Denver area. Thank you for the info.

I shoot both a BR and NSX. Last May I bought a S&B PM 2 5.5x25 with H37 Reticle. It is by far much clearer than either of the nightforces. I had the chance to look through a nightforce competition. Wow. Its clear and the magnification is hard to beat. Scott

Isn't it amazing how much clearer things become when reducing the size of the objective diameter to allow more "useable" light transmission ;) Those baseball size objectives were never needed on a target scope. The Nightforce Comp model wears a 52mm objective, rather than a 56mm. I would be willing to bet, at some point, Sightron will follow.

The S&B has a very short eye relief as already mentioned. I sold mine and replaced it with a March, but before I replaced it I did a side by side comparison and there wasn't anything in it between the two regarding the quality of the glass.

I agree completely, I sold my NF 55 comp after laying down and comparing it to the S&B. As for short eye relief I thought the NF 55 was waaaay shorter. The NF 42 was and still is a better scope IMHO but it's subjective.
