GONE but NOT forgotten. (from a few of us that were members for 20+ years)
24 according to the site message posted in reply #8.Jim Baker ran the site solely for what 20 plus years?
Thanks Jim. FWIW, SavageShooters and many of its members really helped this guy get into rifle shooting. God’s speed.Appreciate everyone's sentiments, and yes the site will be missed. We had a good run, but it was time for a number of reasons. I met a ton of great people through the site and have many fond memories over my tenure.
Of course there's a darker side one gets to experience as the admin of such a site as well. Whether it was dealing with the persistent spammers, butting heads with the occasional trouble maker, the multitude of varying new privacy and protection laws from different states/countries that have to be adhered to, random technical issues with the server, or even the occasional subpoena showing up in my mailbox demanding I turn over any data I may have for a specified registered user they (LEO's & DA's) were pursuing charges against - there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff that I won't miss one bit.
For now I'm just enjoying the calm after the storm and relaxing a bit after spending most of the last month making triple sure I had backups of everything 'just in case' I decide I ever want to resurrect the website side of things sometime in the future.
The SavageShooters.com domain name is now pointed at our FaceBook page and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
