Savage target trigger

It has been a while since I have shot my Savage LRPV in 6BR, and I don't totally get what you are saying your problem is. The Target AccuTrigger is designed to go down to 6 oz, and I have managed to tweak my BTVS rimfire Savage AccuTrigger to get down to about 12 oz. It is a much cruder device than the centerfire Target Accutrigger. What I found on my 6BR was that for reasons I still do not totally understand, the safety likes to move off full fire position towards a neutral position that lets you think it will fire, but it does not. There is a link below to a thread which details my journey to this conclusion. I never really closed out the post with the conclusion, but it is that the last thing I do before closing the bolt is push the safety to full fire position. When I do that it fires every time. The other interesting part is that my BTVS has a similar AccuTrigger quirk. Out of the blue for reasons I do not understand, the safety will go on. I've convinced I am not putting it on. With my tuning tweaks it has probably done 10K rounds without a fail to fire -- if you exclude the times when the safety was on. This may not be your problem, but I thought I would suggest it might be. Here is the link to the other thread.
