Savage striker factory barrel question

This is probably a dumb question but I have some savage strikers and one of them still has a factory barrel with the integral brake tht can be turned on or off. I am confident it Can be totally removed but I wanted to see if anyone has ever removed one and the proper procedure to do so. I would rather ask a dumb question first versus destroy something because of letting pride get in the way.
