Savage Striker

Bought a Savage Striker 7-08 SS also 3 barrels 30BR Mcgowan, 22-250 factory, and a 243 factory. I kinda think I bit off more than I could chew. My question What Is Needed To Switch Barrels? I know I need a tool to remove the barrel and replace it with one of the others. Now comes the good part. Never had a Savage that I had all these extra barrels. I have heard I need a go,no-go gauge for each caliber? I was told that I could make my own? OK if this be the case anyone out there know how this is done? When the Gentleman told be the way to do it went in one ear and out the other as I never expected to try it. My Bad. Lou

If the 7-08 barrel attached now is from the factory, it'll be on tight, if it was already changed before, it'll be much easier to get off. I have done it many times. You want to get the go gauge for sure, and until you are experienced, you should just get the no-go. I make a no go from the go gauge by using to pieces of scotch tape on the end cut to fit the bottom, but I don't recommend that for you. They can be very accurate.
