Savage Replacement Trigger

Anyone have an idea of Rifle Basix 2 trigger vs the SSS Competition trigger?

Will be going on my FTR rifle and replacing the Savage Hunting Accutrigger

Thanks

I had the same question, i've just finished a 6mmm Dasher built on a new Stevens action, looked around for a trigger solution, heard lots of reports on the SSS triggers ( good and bad ), and had one past dealing with SSS ( not good ). in the end bought a Sav-2 Rifle Basix, not many other options, very happy with it, so worked out well,

The reason i have the spare accu trigger is that i had SSS time & true the receiver and install his evo target trigger. it,s set a 4oz with a clean break and no creep. i'm satisfied..he was 2 week over the promice date..not bad

I have a sss comp on my 6br and one on a 243. I really like them both and they break really nice at 10-12ozs. I tested a gentleman's RB Sav-2 at the range, and it was really nice. I think he said he got it down to 5oz. I bought a sav-2 to put on my 6br, just haven't got around to it yet. I think the sav-2 is a better trigger for a dedicated bench gun, as it can safely go lighter.

Now with the sss Evo (which I haven't tried) you need to have your action t&t'd by them, then they will install it, I have heard lots of good things about those triggers.

a couple things supprised me..SSS took the safety out when the trigger was installed..no mention of that it just showed up that way..he sent the safety parts back..and the necked sized brass that was fired from that barrel would no longer chamber..i ended up full length resizing and bumped the shoulder back till the bolt would close with slight pressure..i know he had the barrel off ..so it has to be head spaced differently from the factory head space

been trying to read threads and online info and seems this is a tougher choice than I had thought. People either hate or love either one of the triggers listed

Ordered the RB Sav-2

I have a dual-port Savage action on my competition Dasher. At about 1,300 rds. the accutrigger quit. Put a Rifle Basics on and set it at about 5 oz. Really no issues with only the trigger position being the only quandry I had setting it.

Won a 1,000 yard match with it two weeks ago. No issues. Seems like a well-spent $154 dollars.

Wasn't difficult at all for me. Changed the pivot hole position to get what I wanted. That was the only "issue" and it really was not an issue.

I have no experience with the SSS so I cannot comment on them but the Rifle Basix came with a DVD that walks you through the installation and setup, step-by-step.
You won't be disppointed with RifleBasix.

thanks.

OK got trigger and the video lacks detail about fine tuning the trigger. my trigger has a lot of side play in it. How do I take this up?

Also what is the proper sequence of adjusting the trigger? I have red trigger spring in and trigger is in center pivot hole

I used the rear pivot hole. Follow the directions and do the sear engagement and spring/weight issue as per directions. Hope these pictures are helpful and also hope I torqued my action back properly. Shoot coming up.

It's a Bostrom. He hand-cuts, laminates, presses, shapes and creates works of art...then builds you a winning target piece any way you want. He also makes those great Bostrom tuner-brakes.
