The Long Single Shot for a 338 Lapua Magnum would be the one I'd use for a 338 Edge project if your determined to use a Savage action.
- The standard model 12 PTA is going to be on the short side for anything longer than a 280 A.I. or 30-06 length case.

Yeah, but the PTA will eject an empty RUM case...and I have one. AFAIK, that Lapua action is only available in a complete rifle.

The bolt face for the RUM case is the same as the 300Win Mag. See if Savage offers a 300 Win Mag in the PTA and buy an after market barrel chambered in 338 EDGE.
