Savage Picatinny Suggetion

I have a LRPV on the way. Looking for a picatinny base. Was going to buy a TPS 20MOA but it states on SWFA "Savage Accu-Trigger Right Hand Short Action (except the Savage Model 12 Target Models (12 Bench, 12 F Class, 12 F/TR, 12 Palma)) "

My action is a Right bolt left port target action of course. Anyone got any suggestions. I was planning on going steel...?? The Bench-Souce look good though?

I have a Ken Farrel 20 moa base on my LRPV duel port. Works fine. It sits perfectly true. It is alittle high tho. I need 1/4 rings (low) to get the scope close to the barrel.

I use EGW weaver/pica style on my RBLP target action and on my RBRP mod. 12 VLP. I have a 0 and a 20. I swap them back and forth as needed, works fine. Not sure why some manu's differentiate between the target actions and others, might have something to do with the ejection port but my EGW clears fine.

I had a Ken Farrell base bedded to my new build PT action, but after mounting scope with rings, the scope was way too high for my comfort level, I promptly called Seekins Precision and ordered his base and rings for close to an 8th inch drop. His bases and rings are aluminum. And base is a solid piece with no cutouts. The Bench Source bases are fairly high as well.

I am having this problem as well. Farrel 20moa base and low rings (1/4) and my scope is still to high. I have room to go down about 3/16 or maybeee a 1/4".

The Seekins base that I ordered is a full .190 thinner than the Farrell base. May be what you need to drop her down.

I looked at Near Manufacturing bases and rings, and I must say they are very well engineered and a tad expensive as well.

Like the others, the standard Farrell base seemed too high. BUT, Ken Farrel also makes one specifically for the target action that is lower and does not have a ejection port cutout. I have one one a RB/LP and it fits perfect. They are around $130.

Another option that is cheaper is an EGW HD base(not standard). It is about $70 and is lower than the standard EGW base. I have one of those as well on a RB/LP.

Bench-Source makes one that contours around the LP for a target action. These are VERY nice, but a little higher than the others. Have one of these on a RB/LP also. I believe this base was about $75 if I remember correctly. Larry Scott was selling these but he just stopped selling Sightrons and Savage actions, so i dont know if he still offers them or not.
