Savage order, strange experience...

I ordered a Savage Model 12 Benchrest from Bud's Gun shop in Kentucky...it comes in to my local ffl holder, I go over, the shipping box has not been opened, the Savage factory box is inside, sealed, says it is a Model 12 Benchrest in 6mmBR, SKU 18614, just like I ordered, I open the box, and the first thing that hits my eye is a black synthetic stock, not the laminated stock which comes on the Benchrest model. It looks very much like the HS Precision fiberglass stock which is on my Model 12 LRPV, with a rounded forend, (not flat for the front rest), lot of drop to the toe, sling swivel studs fore and aft, not what I ordered at all. However, the receiver is a dual port, 6mmBR, just like it is supposed to be. This is looking like a Long Range Precision model, but they don't catalog that in 6mmBR, and that is not offered dual port single shot.. Waiting to hear back from Bud's.
Anyone ever hear of anything like this before? It looks like someone got confused on the line and put a LRP stock on a BR model.

Are you saying a stock swap would make it right ?..If so why not call savage and see if you can work it out with them ? it's their mistake ..not Bud's .Savage customer service is top notch

I had the exact same thing come in about three weeks ago. It took an act of congress, but I did get Savage to send me the corect stock and a return shipping label to send them back the HS Precision one. Rifle shoots great though.
