Terry said:The caliber is not the issue, the flat bottom BR stock is. Some guys went to the F T/R stock to get in.
I thought on the Model 12 F Class the flat bottom butt stock is wider in the front and narrower in the rear. Depending on where you measure it (since it narrows going from front to rear) it is over an inch toward the front and less than an inch at the rear. Depending on your rear bag ear width and where the butt of the stock rides in the ears it can actually tighten up during recoil.Dave Berg said:The Model 12 F Class looks like it would be even better with the flat bottom butt stock but unless the club permits changing the stock contour you'll quickly find that the flat is narrower in the front than the rear so it doesn't ride the rear bag well at all. Under recoil the buttstock isn't touching either of the ears on the bag, just kind'a wandering around.
If the Redding 2 Die Set is what you want I would go with the Redding Type S Match Bushing 2 Die Set. It is more expensive than the standard 2 Die Set and you will also have to purchase a Neck Bushing for it. The standard set will get you started but this is a sport in which you find yourself continually upgrading as time goes on.sgreen3 said:After contacting the club, they said there was no issue with that style of stock, so I think I should be good to go. As far as the dies go, should I go with a neck sizing die or full length? Im looking at the 2 die sets from Redding on midway.

Get the Full Length Die set since you are just starting. If you only use a neck sizing die eventually you will have to get a Body Die or a Full Length die to resize the case.sgreen3 said:Do I need to use a neck sizing die or full length die? Thanks kinda what Im hung up on, any ideas?

Now that you have ordered the dies inquiring minds want to know which dies you ordered.sgreen3 said:Thanks fellas I really appreciate all the info! Im gonna place an order for my dies and some lapua brass today. Starting to get very excited ;D
Last night I was helping my neighbor make his initial reloading accessories order. He is not sure how deep into this type of shooting he wants to get so like you he thought the same 2 Die Set was the way to start and I agreed with him. Good luck with your new adventure.sgreen3 said:I ended up going with the Redding 2-die Set with the full length sizing die. Although I know its no where near the best it will at least get me going till maybe next season when I can step it up a little bit and go with one of the Redding competition sets.
