Savage Model: 110 BA Law Enforcement

Right then Guys
I would very much appreciate you dudes in the USA views on the Savage Model: 110 BA Law Enforcement , I am thinking of getting one in 300 Win Mag , I would really appreciate frank and honest views on the rifles performance over various ranges and the rifles pros and cons, and any major faults or idiosyncrasies it may have !

If you guys have found out a specific bullet, load , case combination that this little old girl likes , and what type of projectiles & seating depth that you favor for this girl too, all information gratefully received.

What sort of mounts and scope combination that you have found to be the best when shooting various distances.
This little girl cost in the region of $2321 in the USA & £2620+ in the UK which equates to $4,271.97 that's $1950 more in the UK. So Guys I would really appreciate some very frank and honest views on this fine lady !

Steve

I don't own one but I have shot them and shoot next to them. My honest opinion is they are sexy to look at but impractical. It sure turns heads and shoots very well but no better than your basic Savage 110 with a nice stock for 1/3 the price. The 110BA is heavy and bulky so it's not something you want to carry on a hunt. If she is going to be a bench queen you are fine. The only reason to buy it is for the look. You are not going to gain anything that you could not get out of another model.

I love Savage rifles. I own a number of them and they are all tack drivers. I buy a bottom shelf models, upgrade them a bit and they will shoot with the best of them. I'll only spend about $1000-1200 and that includes the rifle (not including optics). You can build a equally capable rifle for much less but if its the look you want go for it. ;D

Why would you buy the WinMag over the .338 Lapua? Rifle cost is the same, at least here in the US.

Its a great Lapua platform, since the extra weight helps with recoil management. I don't see the advantage for anything lighter than the Lapua, though, and agree with the previous poster, you can get as much for less unless you just want that awesome look! (They are extremely cool looking!)
