I never hear much about them, and frankly you are paying a lot for what you are getting.

I would say buy the gun locally, see how it shoots. If you want more then swap to a better barrel and bed the action. If you want to try and squeeze the last bit out of it then have Kevin Rayhill true and time it. Or send it to Sharp Shooter supply for a great T&T job at a good price that only takes 12 months to get back :

Another good way to go is a full re-build of the action, by replacing the bolt and a few other parts by Nat Lambeth. Thats who did mine and his work has been outstanding on my 6brx. After replacing the bolt the action is so much tighter and smoother, not to mention the great groups it puts down.

Thanks, I am wanting a new savage in possible 6br with the factory target acc trig.Looks like I would have to call for a special build to get this. Their web shows the model 12 benchrest 6br, 1in8 barrel but gives no info which trigger comes factory.

Buy one from Savage in there L.R.P.V in 6mmbr and I am sure you will be happy with it just the way it comes from Savage.

There is an actual Savage shooters website and forum online. Just as a guess, I would think you are more likely to find folks there with some experience of dealing with the gunsmith in question. Sorry I don't have the URL

All savages have the accutrigger now.Stevens doesnt have the accutrigger except for one model.If you order a factory target you will get the red blade accutrigger which is significantly lighter than the standard accutrigger.

I had one "LRPV" done there, my last, and had an action done by Stockade and I will be sending my Savages there now. Good luck on getting it done in 12 mo by SSS. I have heard nothing but great things about Nat and Center Shot rifles either. Pick one of those three and you will be pleased.
