Savage F Class Help

Need some help. I just purchased the Savage F Class in 6.5-284 and needing to get a scope base. Looking for suggestions on that as well as if the scope base needs to be bedded?

Thanks in advance

First of all make sure you get a base with 20 minutes of elevation in it and with bedding don't bother . I use blue loctite on the screws... Enjoy

The best, I'm not sure on that one. But I do know I have $30.00- over $100.00 one piece bases on my Savage's. Non, not one has ever let me down. Aluminum or steel, your choice. EGW aluminium are good and the Ken Farrell steel with lug are really nice.

I've never seen a savage receiver that needed scope base bedding.

What's your budget for glass ? This will tell us what scopes to recommend.

I have a used Ken Ferrell steel 20 moa for a Savage I'd sell for $70 shipped.
Thanks but I need something with grooves all the way along the base as i’m Going to put my ATACR 7-35 with a spur until I make my mind up on final scope and rings

No problem. I have no idea what you are talking about, but I guess you do!

Do you know what a Spuhr one piece scope mount is? The entire rail needs to have Picatinny slots.
Farrell rails have slots the entire length. Or, the one I have does. And no, Spuhr is a new one on me. But I do know now, I looked it up.

I don't mean to be offensive but that statement about a Savage receiver never needing scope base bedding is a joke?

No, it's not a joke. I have had many Savage rifles over the years and I have NEVER had to bed a scope base. Ever. Your implication is, in fact, offensive...contrary to your faux mea culpa.

I've always bought the higher priced picatinny bases because...??? Last year I bought an EGW and now, many, many rounds later it's just fine.
