Savage F Class 6mmbr load help.

Gudday all,
Ive just taken delivery of a new Savage F Class 6mmBR 1:8 twist rifle. Unfortunatly I only have about 3 weeks till my first competition. Its a 300m fly shoot.

Can anyone provide some starting loads. I have read the 6mmBR pinned page.

Due to ordering time Im limited to the following:
Projectiles:
105g Bergers
87g Hornady VMAX
80/85/90g NOSLER

POWDER
ADI BM1/2/2208
Reloader 10x/15/19.

I have both NORMA and LAPUA cases. Federal/CCI/REM primers.

I know Ill need to do some load development, Im just looking for a starting place given the short lead time I have.

Kind regards and thanks guys

I agree with 30 grains of RL15 as a start, but my bet is that you will have a hard time jamming with the long throats that are showing up with the Savage f-class guns. If you can't jam the 105's, then try Bergers advise for jumping them. I believe that it was 20K,40K, and 80K to find the jump they like? Double check Bergers website though. Good luck with your gun and matches.

There are two gents in my club who recently acquired Savage 6BR F-Class rifles. One shot 105 Berger VLDs OK jammed .020 in the lands,no problem reaching them), while the other didn't like the VLDs at all. Both barrels were on the slow side, fairly 'open' bore dimensions) and would take loads that would be WAY too hot in other barrels. The Lapua factory 105s actually shot real well and they ended up jumped about .030. The Berger 100s,a shorter version of the Berger 108) shot pretty well in both rifles.

theres nuthin wrong with 105 bergers, 30 grns of varget, cci 450 primers, 20 thousandths in the rifling. go lapua cases. give it a shot. shoot good out of mine. don't care for rl-15 too temperature picky.
