savage ejector pin problems???

It is a factory rifle, sooo, ya know I'm not able to do much with it.... darn it.

I am able to seat the 50 gr nbt's about .17" on the bullet,.17" of bearing surface between bullet and case mouth). and approximately .24" from the lands. So plenty of Freebore.

None of my factory Savage barrels have a throat that is that long. They all allow a 50 grain bullet to be into the lands. If yours was that way when new, I would give the factory a call. I believe that they throat with a separate reamer. Maybe they made a mistake.

That's good to know. I must have bad luck, because this is the second barrel that was put on this rifle by savage and both had similar throats. I wouldn't mind as much if it came with an 8 or even a 9 twist so I could use a longer pill, but the 12 is what I got
