Want to give a big shout out for savage customer service. Called about some parts for target action. Just needed different stuff, no warranty issues. Lady sent it all to me no charge, warranty coverage. I offered to pay, was told no worries.
A true oddity in current business models for the customer to feel treated well.
Thanks Savage.

Thanks Savage.
I tried to order a trigger guard NOT THE TRIGGER and was told I needed a FFL no. Go figure. Tommy Mc..

I have a Savage 93R .17 BVSS, purchased at least 12 years ago. Since I am required to use non lead ammo the accuracy as not been stellar, never was with this rifle, really. I noticed the stock was touching the barrel on the left side. I called Savage as asked if this was an issue and if I could add a little clearance. They asked for the serial number. A few moments lated he asked for my address, a new stock is on the way. Mentioned the attaching screws should be @ 20inlbs. Service beyond what I expected. Way to go Savage !

I am in the same boat as you with the non-lead ammo. I have a savage 93 17hmr with a plastic cameo stock. Hornady ammo is 2.5 moa and cci tnt green 15.5 will shoot about 1.75 moa neither of which any good. I tried different torque on the screws etc. to no avail.

Called customer service to order a bolt head retain pin for my 110G. Savage didn’t have it in stock then. The lady on the phone felt truly sorry and tried for days to determine when it would be restocked. She kept me on her radar for days. Impressed! Jacks gun parts in Rapid City South Dakota had it. I bought two.

Well, Savage is going great, Remington is gone, I see a correlation. Had a shot out 700BDL in .223. Lots of running deer matches. I wanted to keep it a factory rifle so I called Remington and spoke with a young fellow. He gave me a price , I agreed and asked if they wanted the stock or just the barreled action and bolt. He said we don't need the bolt just the barreled action. I said how will you verify the headspace. It was real quite. I thanked him and hung up. Called the next day, got a different rep and told him my story. He said you should sit here day after day and hear some of the things being said. I cut my teeth on Remingtons, once had s bunch. Have not bought a new one for around 30 years. So sad.

Yeah, but...is it true Savage will only send parts - of any kind - to an FFL holder?
Why do you think that? A firearm owner can send a rifle or pistol to any FFL for repair or customization and get it delivered right back to their door. Parts are not firearms except for the serialized component.

UPDATE: After two calls to Savage inquiring the whereabouts of the stock they were sending, I was informed the stock on my rifle had been changed and the stocks they have won't fit my rifle. They suggested I contact Boyd's and purchase a stock from them. Bummer. Time for the dremmel and some bedding material.

I had a problem with a Savage rifle. They did accept it for repair but it came back worse the first time and just as bad as it started the second time. They were not willing to take it back a third time. They are pretty good for what they were made for but there are better choices if you plan to get picky about things. They DID teach me that if a rifle won't hold 1 1/2" @100 something is seriously wrong somewhere.
