Savage Bedding Question

I dont free float it but I experimented with torque values and it makes a huge improvement using as little as 15 inch pounds on the rear screw and 65 inch pounds on the front screw. Play around a bit and it will help.

I've bedded several Savage rifles.
Mostly with the plastic stock.

If doing a plastic stock, get adhesion promoter! Will help the bedding stick to the stock.

Also, I've never gone higher than 35lbin on an action screw. Especially a factory stock.

I tried 50lbin on an aftermarket stock. It really didn't like it!

Definitely do the action tuning!!

I free floated the tang in my single shot savage. Seems to work pretty well. I can't really think of much reason not to. Just put some tape under it when you bed.
