Savage Barrel Fouling Question

IMHO with Savage barrels you have to fill the scratches and chatter before they shoot well. And lots of Savage barrel shoot very well. Clean them too well and you have to use 10+ fouling shots to fill the scratches and chatter.

My question is :" How does it shoot and group ?" If it does very well, then just shoot, clean and enjoy it.
If you just can not get it to shoot accuratly, then get a pre-fit and start over.

^This^ The answer is the same now as it was in 2011. If a Savage continues to group as expected, it doesn’t need to be cleaned (JMO). As mentioned, a quality Drop In replacement barrel saves a lot of cleaning agony.

Damn right it does.
