Savage 6BR ejection

I have a Savage LRPV 6BR RT bolt, RT port. It ejects, but scratches the brass as it does. What is the best thing to do, to stop the this? It will eject a loaded round just fine.

I took the ejector out of mine and just pick the brass out by hand, but I have a left port. You might check for sharp edges around the port opening, inside of the action and the action lugs.

I have a 6BR built on a Savage action and had this exact same problem. Deep gouges on the shoulder/body edge. I removed almost all the ejector spring and that was perfect! Did not force the brass into the inside of the action like before.

You have to deburr the action on the side it ejects.I have one in 22-250AI and it did the same thing.Another member told me what to do and it worked. You have to put a small radius on the locking shoulder and the guide ways. Just deburr dont start grinding off alot of material.

Thanks guys. I going to cut the spring a little at a time, and polish what a can.

I also had this problem, and took my rifle to a gunsmith. He figured out, in about 30 seconds, that it was coming from the inside of the port at the end toward the chamber - there's a metal angle there that puts a scratch right on the base of the shoulder as the round is being ejected. There might be other places as well, but that's one of them.
