Savage 25 barrel system

Been looking at the Savage 25 and their barrel system. They call it a sleved free floating barrel. I have read that the sleve is pressed on. What does the sleve acually accomplish? Can the barrel be unscrewed as normal or does the sleve extend back over the action also? Have seen BR rifles with these sleves and always have wondered what their purpose was.

A BR Action is sleaved to make it stronger and remove the chance for any flex in the action. Needed when you use a standard action that has a large loading port and mag. cutout.

The savage 25 is sleeved and pinned. I do not own one so I'm not sure exactly what this means.
It cannot be unscrewed and replaced in normal Savage fashion if this helps answer your question.
