Savage 12 bvss in.308 for beinner benchrest rifle

HI,
I have a Savage 12 BVSS in .308. I am new to benchrest shooting and want to start with this rifle to see if the sport is for me. Any suggestions and ideas.

I assume your shooting F/TR, maybe 600 yds?

Go for it, might get a good bench rest scope. Gun should have a 10 twist barrel.

I started off with a similar Savage.

I am going to use a night force benchrest and the twist is a 10. I do reload and appreciate the help. I am going to use it in f/tr.

How is the trigger on it. Make sure the tang is free floated as it interferes with accuracy. I have a savage in a bvss stock and it touched there and I relieved the tension by sanding the wood away and it made a world of difference.

He has 40 boxes in stock. Not too many people have heard of this ammo, but it's some of the best factory I have shot and is consistant!

You could try the 168 A-Max, both are damm accurate at 600 yds!
