savage 10 .223 to 6BR

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new here and new to med-lr shooting. Need info of what I need to convert a savage 10 .223 to a 6BR. I have a 6BR shilen match barrel varmint contour that I purchase here and a choate tactical stock to start with. Other than the go/no gauge, new barrel nut/recoil lug, action wrench/barrel vice, maybe torque wrench.
What do I need to change the bolt to make it work?? Thanks for the help.

Basically all you need is the proper allen wrench to remove the bolt handle and a .308 bolt head! Make sure to remove the firing pin assembly before you push the pin out that holds the bolt head! Simpler than pie!!!

Also, you can reuse your current recoil lug and barrel nut! Theres no need need to purchase those new or replacements! Barrel vise isn't needed but an action wrench and barrel nut wrench are recommended! Both can be sourced through Northland Shooter Supply! Good luck and have fun!

I was thinking about converting my 223 Savage to either a 6br or Dasher. Would I have to change the firing pin besides the bold head/face?

Some of the older bolt/firing pins had the 'large hole/pin'

If yours is one...you will need a 'large pin' hole bolt face.....

The newer small hole bolt heads won't fit the large firing pin

Also be sure to purchase a SA face...if you have a SA (10-12-16)

They did make LA 223's at one time....

I use FL sized brass from my die(s) to headspace Savage set ups
