Savagae F Class open rifle

Hey guys I am going to order a Savage Arms Model 12F / TR
or the Savage F Class. I want the 6.5 x284 for 1000 yard comps.
What you guys suggest?
Also what is the best front shooting pedestal i can get with joystick adjustments?
New in the class and I think i can do pretty good with my shooting.
I have been practicing with a R700 .300 winmag.The beast puts a beating on you after a 100 rounds or so!

I handled the transfer for the companion 6BR for a friend. Im sure the 6.5 is just as new, plus the seller is a fine fellow to do business with. Larry

for the front rest stay away from the caldwell fire control JUNK and wont hold 3" bags...i tryed to go the cheap route and am kickin myself for it...not sure what im going to go with ...my friend is a Cnc machinist...think i might just have him make a new bag holder for it

If it were me I would buy the target action from Jerrys Sports Center, the barrel,s) from Tim North at Brouhton and the stock from Gary Elesio. I would chamber one barrel in 308 to shoot FT-R and the other in 6mmBRX to shoot F-Open. I would have a switch barrel gun to shoot in both classes. I would top it with a 12 X 42 Nightforce Scope. Then you would only hae to load the ammo and shoot.

Why the 6BRX as oppossed to a 6x47 or 6.5x47?
Either of these are less work, no loss of barrel for fireforming. and higher powder capacity?

I use a 260 Rem myself as it is cheaper and definitely gets the job done without burning up barrels like a 6.5x284

If you get a 6.5x.284 don't forget to order a spare barrel right away, you'll need one at about 900 rounds.I shoot a 6CM. and love the acurracy at 1000 and the barrel life.
