I started shooting F Class a couple of years ago. At that time being unsure of how I would like to shoot, I built a rifle using a Savage PTA and a McMillan A5 stock so that I could shoot F/TR, F Open, or even with a sling if I chose to. Well the A5 is a great stock, and I have done pretty well with it, but I have really gravitated to shooting F Open. I think that a different stock may ride the bags a little better, and am considering a new stock.
My questions for the more experienced shooters are, what are the advantages/disadvantages of a flat bottomed rear stock (parallel to the forend) as opposed to one with some slope to it? Also same question as to a rounded bottom verses a flat bottom where it rides in the bags. All responses are really appreciated.
