I'm not a heavy bullet for caliber shooter so a slower twist isn't a problem for me. I have always had the thought if I want a heavier bullet get a bigger gun. That's just me! If it shoots light bullets best, so be it. I'm OK with that.

Ah! Give that up and put higher rings on it. Sounds like looking vintage is more trouble than it’s worth.I bought a Redfield straight 10x to put on it but even though I was told it was reconditioned, apparently it wasn't. Bullets went everywhere and I couldn't get it to settle down. I took it back and traded it for a "reconditioned" Redfield 4x12. First results weren't stellar with it either but I plan to try again with it. My problem is modern scopes have to large of eye piece and the bolt will hit it. So trying to keep it some what vintage and a small eye piece is a little bit of a hassle. These were purchase from a company in Tulsa that reconditions older Redfield, Weaver and other older scopes. Not impressed with their work yet.
