Sako or M-16 Extractor

I have the post regarding the Remington extractor on the magnum bolt face. It seems to be an impossibility to find a rivetless extractor. To re hash some old threads, I am thinking of going this route. Which of the two extractores is better on this bolt face? By counter bore, do you mean opening up the bolt face to fit the extractor and then fitting a "washer" to get the bolt face back to its correct size? I believe I had this done once before and the "washer" came out.
Who on this web site would perform this service?
Thanks in advance.
Gary

The 'counter bore' is the space in the end of the barrel for the bolt nose on a Rem 700 or Howa 1500. It has to be made bigger in diameter so the new extractor has the room to snap over the cartridge rim.

Thanks for all of the info. The video was great Aaron. I had no idea it was this involved. The only thing the video did not show was the barrel fitting. So the entire rifle has to be sent in not just the bolt. Removal of the barrel and relocating the recoil lug?

Possibly? I have a 700 clone with one of the M style extractors and I cut a standard .705 counterbore and it runs fine. I don't know if an aftermarket extractor fits the same way.

I think Badger says .8 or so. I'd have to look in my note book for an exact number.

The only time you might have to open the counterbore is if you use an actual mil spec m16 extractor and do not want to grind off the nub on the outside of the tapered end
