Sako Deluxe Question

Greetings to all. Please forgive me if I am asking this question in the incorrect category of this forum. I have a Sako Deluxe 6 PPC AI #186213 with "Made in Finland" stamped on barrel. This rifle has not been fired as far as I know since it left the factory. However, I do not have the box. It is in excellent condition. I am considering selling this rifle but have no idea as to the value. I would like to sell this one before purchasing another... Any advice would be wonderful. Thanks !!

Did not know they were made in Deluxe. Possibly marketed in Finland, not US. Does it have traditional rosewood fore end and grip, skip line checkering, and engraved floor plate? Dunno value, but the standard AI PPC's in mint are worth about 1K.

Check Sako Collector's here. Someone may be familiar with it.

Tenring,

Thank you so very much for taking the time to reply !!!!! Yes, this Sako does have the rosewood forend and grip as well as engraving on the floorplate, fox head and tail). The pistol grip has the wood inlay of a fox head. This rifle is lovely and has very minor marks on the scope base, scope has never been mounted). Also has a minor mark on barrel just forward of scope base, and a small wear mark on the barrel itself. The wood is in perfect condition. Again, any help on value would be great. As I said, I would like to sell this one before purchasing another rifle. I have enjoyed having it though...

it's listed in the blue book of gun values under PPC model. i have the 26th edition and it lists for $950 @ 98% condition, below that it says to add $320 for deluxe model. if you had the original box you could do the 100% value which is $1250 plus the $320 extra. it was disc. in 1993, along with the benchrest model, which only adds $85. sounds like you have a neat little piece.

The Sako sporter in 6PPC regularly goes in the 1350.00 range, at least that's what I got for mine on GB about 2 months ago. Mine did have the box but it also had about 200 rounds down the tube. The deluxe option in that caliber was made and is very desirable with collectors, even without the box. If it were mine I'd be looking for 1600-1800.00 and would have no problem putting it on Gunbroker with no reserve and a 1.00 starting price. Several of us that buy Sakos keep a close eye there as some pretty nice pieces come through. Last Deluxe I sold was a 222 L461 and it also brought around 1300.00. Basically any small action L461 or A1 in a Deluxe config and mint shape will bring 1200-1300 in a competitive auction.
