Sako A111 threads and?

The reason I am asking is my book at work says it is a shank diameter is 1.040 x 16 tpi. PS that is for LtoR A111 AvSako action.

That would make me happy should cleanup nice with a true
1.062-16 thread

Ive heard of people doing this to Howa 1500 actions as well. Ive never tried it but id like to hear from people that have changed them to 16tpi as well.

I have a PTG TIN coated tap with centering mandrel that converts the Howa thread to Rem. 700 thread. Works quite well. Don't know if they still offer it.

I barreled an AV action a few years ago and this matches what I have on it for threads. Sako actions sure are a mixed bag on barrel threads. An AII I just had was the 1.6 mm thread. I recently bought a late model Sako barrel on this site that is SS, fluted, in .300 Win. Mag that has a 1" OD shank, 16 TPI. Screws right into a Win. or Ruger receiver, just somewhat longer.

Our shop one goes from 1.75 to 1.5
That sounded wrong I ment 2.0-1.75-1.5-1.25-1.0 no 1.6

I tell you what I don't think it is a good idea for me to post anything I have seen on this post or any other I am always proven wrong on my assessments.PS I guess I am going to have to get me another set of thread guage mine only has 1.5 mm

My thread gauge doesn't have 1.6mm size at all.

I don't know were I got that other number but this barrel measured
1.033 and it looks like a 16tpi
funny thing The pitch measures same as a1.062-12tpi 1.0066
But it definitely looks like a 16 from my pitch gauge.

There are only 6 full threads on the barrel so if it was 1.6mm there would only be .00295 difference

The action won't fit in my fixture so I'm in the middle of making a new bigger one.
Got the barrel nut idea done though.

Remaking fixture again
I made it to short for this sako I didn't need much length to hold it but I did need it for the end of the action.
Evidently 1-9/16 isn't big enough bore to dial this A111 in.

Well i finished the action and barrel work.
Was holding off on posting pics thinking i would get to the range any day but still havnt in weeks so no target the threads on the action cleaned up in about .005 good thing because i did the barrel first and went .005 under min pitch on a 1.062-16 thread wich was about .010 over existing thread.
