Hello Guys,
Ok you win I'm gonna build a 6BR, I was going to have my Nesika custom 6PPC re-chambered but really wanted a repeater,I have owned a 6PPC SAKO 75 and it fed great) and have thought about a TIKKA 595 or a SAKO L591 action but after reading Fabian Müller's article on his SAKO 75 I have the way forward, in fact the answer has been sitting in my safe all along - a SAKO 75 stainless varmint in .243, it shoots great. Fabian Müller is getting 3100 fps with an 87 Vmax which is my bullet of choice in the .243 and I am only getting another 60 fps but burning 46 grains of N160 to do it! I'm convinced about the 6BR.
Now for the question, has anyone had any luck re-chambering a factory .243 to a 6BR or do I go to the considerable expense of a custom barrel? The .243 shoots great so the barrel is fine and has had only 500 rounds through it.
The Mcmillan stock and single set trigger are already on order.
Thanks.
Steve.
