Safe Dehumidifiers

Has anybody ever done a test as to which dehumidifier and or method is the most effective at keeping the air dry in the safe ? What do you guys use and is it effective ? Also where do you live ? I say that because there is probably a huge difference between Seattle and Las Vegas. I've been using the dessicant in the vented can and I've been having to dry it out more frequently lately. I'm wondering if it loses its effectiveness over time.

A Goldenrod works really well. In a tightly sealed safe, in a city that rarely got below 50 degrees, a simple low-wattage light bulb kept my safe warm, and above the dew point. The flat dessicant packs can be purchased in bulk. But I do suggest using a Goldenrod or a light bulb in the safe.

The dessicant in the can does not become ineffective to my knowledge. You may be experiencing higher humidity levels which accounts with more frequent drying out. I use an electric humidity dryer that I bought from Brownells that sits on the bottom of my safe. I also use two of the large dessicant rechargeable cans. I recharge the cans approx. every three months. This combination works very well for me.
