Sloughhouse Benchrest Shooters held a Double IR50/50 3-Card List Match on Saturday in the heart of the Ione Triangle.
This was the makeup match for the April match that was cancelled. We had a light turnout of 7 shooters, we had a few of our regulars who decided not to chance the weather with the storms coming in.
Those who showed up were met with chilly, foggy conditions at the start with the 50 yd targets barely visible. The fog started lifting as we got started @ 8:30, chilly but hardly any wind to speak of although several shooters were having elevation "fliers"
Pierre Bigras took the 1st Agg with a 747-44x including a 250-20x on Card 1, just beating out Marcus Byrne who had a 247-43x and had the only other 250 in Agg 1 an 18x. Randy Kirkbride was right behind in 3rd with a 746-40x.
With only 7 shooters, things moved along quickly and we rolled into Agg 2 as the breeze started to pick up to our usual L-R out of 10 o'clock and the scores reflected the more readable conditions.
Agg 2 was taken by Marcus with a nice 750-51x after losing the 1st card to Dave Hallinan on a triple tiebreaker 250-18x-FM2. He apparently got tired of Dave telling him how he had been whooped up on and decided to put the hammer down. This would come under the heading of "Don't poke the bear" Pierre was right behind in 2nd at 749-46x, Brett Berger 3rd at 747-42x.
Interestingly Card 3 had 5 of the 7 shooters popping 250's with Brett Berger coming out on top with 18x's. Reflects the unusually mild conditions for our little corner of the world.
The overall 6-Card Aggregate AKA the Money Match ($5.00 of your entry fee goes to a prize pot for the top 4 shooters) results:
1st Place: Marcus Byrne 1497-94x
2nd Place: Pierre Bigras 1496-90x
3rd Place: Dave Hallinan 1491-77x
4th Place: Randy Kirkbride 1490-77x
Special shoutout to Curtis Jones who made the trip down from Reno to shoot his factory rifle off bipod and bag. Hope you had a good time and a safe trip home over the pass.
Thanks to everyone who chipped in to help, we have a Club match scheduled for the Saturday before Christmas, we will see what interest there is next month and make the call then.
Full results attached,
G
