Sabatti Oblivion

Sabatti claims it’s revolution. So, it’s a barrel block design and barrel production method I am not familiar with. Their MMR rifles were heavy but not something superb accuracywise.
it should hit the shelves in Europe this month.

I've always wanted a Sabatti target rifle but they are hard to come by here in the states. They come up with some very innovative designs especially with their barrel rifling. Beautiful Italian rifles.

haven't heard that name in a while. I had one of their double rifles, a .500 3" Nitro Express about thirty years ago. Hope their QC is better these days.

A barrel block that transfers the barrel heat to the aluminum chassis. Pretty clever.

dang, Euro is worse than US dollar for us, that'll be a pricy gun in Cda, push 6k for sure. They're rifling intrigued me over the last few yrs, there are some dealers in Cda over the last few yrs on some of their shotguns and a few rifles. Not likely I'll ever try one.

I looked over the video to see what's up. Some time back, I did have some
thoughts on building a chassis BR rifle using a barrel block method. Looking
up some old notes and sketches has me in another direction pertaining to
the block. There's more to it about heat dissipation thru just a small area block.
Have to worry more about the current crazy I have going on......Maybe next
Fall ??

Beautiful rifle, but 3900 euros translates in to about $4600, and then the markups begin. Taxes, transportation, and additions from every handler to the purchaser.

So it might be North of $6000.

Mystic Precision (Jerry Tao) in Summerland British Columbia made a BR rifle with that type of clamping system few years ago.

I think the last factory produced rifle maker to specifically refer to F-Class in its name and intended purposes was Savage, with its three action screw single shot Model 12. This doesn’t happen often. The LRPV is 20 years old this year, and the F rifles were right in there.

To keep that upscale and recognizable look, I hope they offer finished replacement barrels. Manufacturers rarely do this, but Sako, another European, did so with the TRG barrels. It certainly demonstrates confidence in tight tolerances. The block is admirably ambitious and maybe a factory first.

the Sabatti Oblivion is a closed action rifle. What does that mean? I tried to listen to the video but my hearing is poor and I could not understand what was being said. Aren't all bolt action rifles closed?

I would guess he is referring to the top of the action. Only has a small port for feeding and ejection. Hunting actions are pretty open top.
