Runout

when measuring the amount of runout on the case neck, is a one piece v block sufficient ? Or is something like the sinclair ball bearing design better ?

Dan

I only ask because my concern is that any imperfection in/on the body of the case will magnify and show at the neck

They are not ball bearings. They are fixed in place in the tool.
They are very smooth and work well.
The tool has taught me one very important thing, minimal run out begins with quality brass. Remington 22-250 brass .003"-.004" runout. Lapua 6 BR brass .00025" to .0005". Wish Lapua made 22-250 brass. It's hard to read the indicator sometimes as I think some are zero.
