granite v-block question

If you use a granite v-block for measuring runout, how well does the brass case 'slide' on the granite surface? I could imagine the case 'sticking' to the granite as you're trying to spin it, causing the case to 'walk' up the side of the block. I don't have a any granite plates to test it out. Anyone ever tried this?

If the granite is cut true and has a high pollish it should work fine. However, if does not it will scratch your brass like butter.

Wouldn't bother with the granite V blocks, the Sinclair runout rig is about the best way to go.

I purchased an RCBS unit several years ago and do not like it. The Bearings on the Sinclair and Holland are great.

The RCBS marks the cases and isn't up to their standards for product.

Buy the Sinclair and Make the Brownell family happy. Old Doug

I recently purchased the Sinclair unit and it is really nice. 300 mag to 223 not problems. I looked at several others but this one seemed the best and so far it is accurate and easy to use. I am very satisfied.
