G'Day Fella's,
Jo191145, thank you for the clarification and I appreciate that it might just do the job but I always err on the conservative side of things, especially where large sums of money are involved!
Running in a barrel, has to be one of the most Brain Numbing jobs ever thought up, in my experience! But the short term Brain Numbing work, is well rewarded with easier barrel cleaning (less Copper bore fouling etc), after this has been done!
Over the last few days, I have been running in the barrel of a New Winchester/Davidson Limited Series 1892 in .45 Colt.
I have a bullet trap in my "Funshop", so I have been working up pressure loads, as I have been running in the barrel.
After almost 40 shots, it has finally started to reduce the amount of Copper fouling. This hasn't been helped by the fact that I'm using pure copper (not gilding metal) bullets, specifically 300grn CMJ, from www.frontierbullets.co.za .
Doh!
