Were do I buy better than factory extractor and clip spring that holds it?

That's a tough one I haven't found one yet either... I have been told just changing them with another can solve the problems ( shell holder ).... Midway is supposed to start carrying them and the extractors , last time I checked it still said coming soon... I have seriously thought about calling Ruger and asking them to send one to me....

Have you tried calling Ruger CS? I have a friend that couldn't order them straight from their site, but called CS and they hooked him up promptly with no hassle. Might be worth a try.

not sure it’s helpful but I reshaped the hook on mine with Jewlers files and did some work on the boltface to get reliable extraction.

i have pictures somewhere.

thank you all for the help i will try modifying the hook first. Then after i screw it up i will contact Ruger

I did the same thing, making angle of the hook steeper and the point sharper. It's worked great since. Here's a post with pics that I did back then:

I think you'll find that and some work on the ejector will do the job.
